First let me explain that I'm not a socialite in the Paris Hilton sense (thank goodness), and second, I do realize that by their very nature, socialites are usually urban, (i.e. from the city). To me an Urban Socialite is not some weird manifestation of the Bergdorf Blond, but rather a girl who has distinguished herself as a trend setter in Urban Style. It's no secret that the city streets dictate many of fashions latest trends, so in my mind its better to be known there, than for imitating the style 6 months later and for thousands more $$. In my mind an Urban Socialite is someone more likely to follow Paris than the lithe and listless blond of Simple Life fame; someone driven more by their Inner Bling than the ridiculous Swarovski Crystal craze, but well versed enough to understand all of the above.
