Like a Virgin.... Group Ltd.?

When you hear the term "Virgin Threads," what comes to mind?
Personally, I think of some pure form of clothing... you know,
vir·gin adj: in a pure, natural, or clean state... and threads: a slang word for clothes.
To me it connotes some kind of uncorrupted style, fashion, or design.
It turns out my idea is exactly the kind of idea Virgin Threads site owner Jason Yang had in mind when he created his fabulous website.
Try telling that to Richard Branson of Virgin Group Ltd. fame. He's suing Jason for his use of the word Virgin, claiming that it's reached a secondary meaning in our society. Basically he's saying that anyone who surfs the web and winds up on his site will be under the impression that it's affiliated with the Virgin Empire (phones, planes, records... etc.).
Jason's holding strong though, standing up to a disturbing trend in which those with power and money literally have the means to control every aspect of our culture... including the way we think and the words we use... Secondary meaning in this context is especially distrubing, because if Branson wins, he in fact is forcing us to associate the word Virgin, with his empire of products. Should anyone really have that right?
David Bollier, author of the book "Brand Name Bullies: The Quest to Own and Control Culture," puts it more bluntly. "If anyone can lay claim to that word, shouldn't it be the Catholic church?"
Jason has a special link on his site of designers who are willing to help him by donating part of thier sales to his legal defense fund. I urge you to check out his site and support not only the designers he represents, but also the cause he stands for.
With dozens of styles and a wide range of designers, styles, and prices even I can indulge!

NOTE: SINCE THE POST, THE SITE HAS SINCE CHANGED ITS NAME TO Stars and Infinite Darkness ... THEY STILL HAVE ALL THE SAME HOT DESIGNERS SO DO CHECK THEM OUT!
